
Steve started his career with a major New York Stock Exchange firm and spent over nine years as a financial consultant and regional manager for the retail investment division of a major regional bank. He became that company’s youngest Vice President in 1996 and managed offices in Toledo, Ohio and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Steve returned to Napoleon in 1999 and has become actively involved in the community. In addition to serving as a city councilman for the City of Napoleon from 2002 - 2008, Steve has volunteered his time to the United Way of Henry County (Board of Directors - 2004 & 2015 President, Executive Committee, Funds Distribution Committee Chairman, 2003 & 2014 Campaign Chairman), past member of Henry County Community Improvement Corporation (Board of Trustees - 2004 Vice President), Napoleon Church of the Nazarene (Church Board, Finance Committee, Adult Christian Education Teacher), Napoleon Rotary Club (Former Club Secretary, President 2018-2019), past member of Napoleon Area Schools Audit Committee, past member of Henry County Hospital Foundation Investment Committee, past member of Henry County Community Foundation Board of Trustees, and as a youth coach (Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Football).
Steve was awarded the United Way of Henry County's highest volunteer honor, The James and Kae Clark Award, in 2002, for his work on behalf of the organization. He has been recognized annually for outstanding client service and business growth by LPL Financial.
Steve and his wife, Penny, and dogs, Sam and Tobin, live in Napoleon. Their son, Connor, lives and works in Napoleon and Hailey, their daughter, lives in Grandview Heights and works in Dublin. The family loves to spend time together at their lake house on Lake Columbia in the Irish Hills of Michigan or further north in Glen Arbor, Michigan on the Leelanau Peninsula. They are members of Napoleon Church of the Nazarene.
